Argentina: UFOs Also Kill Cows That Aren't Mutilated (1998)

The following article is taken from Issue #2 of the INEXPLICATA JOURNAL (Winter 1998). Our friend and colleague Luis Burgos of the Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogía (and later of ICOU as well) provided us with this interesting report on the sobering connection between UFO activity and cattle mutilations.

UFOs Also Kill Cows That Aren't Mutilated
by Luis Burgos

Introduction

One of the greatest enigmas of the UFO phenomenon began in the early 1970's when a number of states in the U.S. produced hundreds of reports on strange cattle deaths by mutilation -- their organs removed and their blood extracted. From that point on, the "cattle mutilation enigma" spread in a less virulent form to some Central American and Caribbean countries such as Puerto Rico, and with isolated episodes manifesting themselves in the Southern Cone, particularly in Brazil and Argentina.

With the passing of time, the hypothesis that cattle mutilations were in fact experiments by the U.S. Air Force, employing black, silent helicopters for purposes of bacteriological warfare against beef cattle, sheep and even horses, began to gain strength.

But just as the subject began to "retreat statistically" from the archives of ufologists, similar stories began to emerge with the presence of Puerto Rico's "Moca Vampire" and today's mysterious "Chupacabras", which has made startling appearances in the USA, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and perhaps even Brazil. All of these enigmas have a single point in common: the sightings of nocturnal lights in the vicinity of the events. In other words, UFO sightings.

Not All Are Mutilated

The purpose of this article is to enhance the statistics of "effects upon animals", cows in particular, but placing distance between itself and the "historically famous mutilations" which of themselves already form a monumental database and are the subject of independent analyses. I am specifically referring to animal deaths produced by the passing of a UFO. While such events are not numerous, they nonetheless represent a new aspect.

The Events

Correa, Province of Sante Fe (Argentina).
In October 1968, thirty-two UFO landing marks appear on a field owned by the Damiani brothers in Correa, Santa Fe province. The marks appeared after a fly-by of lights over the area which constituted Argentina's "first massive landing". Witnesses later found the body of a calf whose bones had been shattered precisely in the area of the landing marks.

Alegrete, Brazil
Toward late October, 1970, on a fine sunny afternoon, Pedro Machado,66, and his son Eurípides, 23, who were looking after the cattle in a farm on Alegrete's First District were stunned to observe a calf moving in a direction parallel to the ground at a height of one meter over the ground. The animal then began moving up into the air "as if absorbed by an invisible force."
It vanished out of the witnesses' sight some 3 to 4 minutes later. The remains of the calf were never found. Both indirect protagonists of this event were well thought-of in their community.

Estación Gil, Province of Buenos Aires (Argentina)
In the early morning hours of September 20, 1971, young Octavio D'Annunzio was heading toward his home in Estación Gil, Coronel Dorrego prospect, in the Province of Buenos Aires, when an unidentified flying object flew over the region at high speed, allowing many local residents to see it. The UFO's approach causes significant symptoms upon D'Annunzio. When military personnel investigates the events, they discover the presence of high levels of radiation, to the extent that film appeared clouded and a number of cows died in a standing position, with their tongues chewed. Carrion birds did not approach the area. This case contains details that are very important to UFO research.

Atalaya, Province of Buenos Aires (Argentina)
In late 1985, when I had the opportunity to investigate the spectacular events at Atalaya with my team from the FAO (Argentine Ufological Foundation), which set the world record in UFO landings, leaving 150 landing marks in a single field, we were able to witness the maneuvers of 4 UFOs over 45 minutes while they performed a veritable air show. A few days later, a completely burned and desiccated cow appeared at a site that had already been surveyed by a number of members. The animal did not appear to have been mutilated, but rather having been exposed to a great thermal source. Unfortunately, we had no way of transferring the carcass to a suitable place for study.

Refuco, Chile
At 9:00 p.m. on August 2, 1988, Luis Viveros and his wife Rosa Angulo, along with their 6-year-old son Rodrigo, witnessed "a red light that descended from the sky. The night was stormy although it was not raining, and thunder could be heard in the distance. Suddenly, a powerful detonation caused all the windows in their house to shatter. Frightened, the Viveros opted to head for a neighboring farm. The following morning, when Rosa went to check on the cows, she noticed that the wire fence has been downed, the trees were broken and that her house had become uneven due to disruptions in the terrain. But the most perplexing discovery had to do with two of their cows: one of them was dead, as if frozen, an the other was alive but rigid, also giving the impression of being frozen, for which reason it was necessary to slaughter it. UFOs were seen over the region that evening at La Unión, close to Osorno. Reports from the Argentine Patagonia were also received.

Victoria, Province of Entre Rios (Argentina)
During the media-reported events in Victoria, province of Entre Rios, which started in 1991, some ufologists noticed the presence of field animals which had died in strange ways, including a number of cows. These events were associated with the UFO sightings made in the area.

Realicó, Province of La Pampa (Argentina)
A strange phenomenon took place in Realicó, province of La Pampa, beginning at 10 p.m. on the stormy night of Sunday, August 7, 1994. During the course of almost three hours, dozens of cows and horses ran around as if "frightened" by something. 60 millimeters of rain fell during the night and a powerful thunderclap rent the air while a strange buzzing sound made itself noticed. On the following day, ranchers faced a horrifying scene: a number of cows and horses had torn through barbed wire fences and died due to the injuries received during their mad stampede. The causes of the incident were never ascertained, but a number of local residents insisted on having seen a "flying light" over the fields.

San Manuel, Province of Buenos Aires
Shortly after the incident in the Pampas, in 1994, we have word of a smaller case having similar characteristics when the residents of San Manuel became aware that animals had suddenly become spooked after the passage of a UFO, with serious consequences for some of the bovines.

Argentina: Water Tank Mysteriously Drained in Cattle Mutilation Area

*** Days ago we reported an unexplained cattle mutilation event in Lot 6, but this would not be the only mystery ***

We visited the area for a closer look at the events with the affected livestock farmer. He not only confirmed the event, but added information as to the events that transpired on the mysterious evening of Sunday, September 2.

Both the owner and the farmhand were on the property on Saturday the 1st in the afternoon, ascertaining that all was in good order. Upon returning to the property on Monday at three o'clock in the morning, they found the cattle thirsty and the 30,000 liter water tank completely drained.

What was striking was the absence of puddles in the surrounding, and the tank was found to be perfectly sound, to the extent that it was promptly refilled and no further losses have occurred.

The mystery is heightened by the coincidence in time with the cattle mutilation event that occurred on the same field. All points to the event occurring that same night.

On Tuesday, September 4, a mutilated head of cattle was found in Parera, some 10 kilometers northwest of our town.

According to the livestock farmer, who owns the property at Lot 6, the animal was standing and in good health as of Sunday the 2nd in the afternoon.

This leads us to suppose that the unfortunate animal's demise took place between Sunday night and the early hours of Tuesday.

Oddly, the signs of "mutilation" on this animal are only on its jaw and tongue. The remainder of the carcass is intact.

The jawbones are denuded of all flesh and blood, as if a long time had elapsed from the phenomenon's occurrence. This is not the first case to take place in our area. Quite the contrary, similarly inexplicable situations abound.

Note: Water-draining incidents were commonplace during the 2002 cattle mutilation wave in Argentina and even earlier. Drainage of tanks has been associated with UFO activity, as these objects have been seen drawing water from tanks, lakes and rivers (Australia's Gosford Lake incident of 1994 is a good example). Luis Burgos Radio Interview on FM Vorterix – 91.7 MHz (Argentina)

Luis Burgos Radio Interview on FM Vorterix – 91.7 MHz (Argentina)

Burgos: […] the president you’re referring to is Jimmy Carter. Who told the media in 1976 that he had seen a UFO in his native Georgia. Well, the story was subsequently debunked, some say it was a cover up, but evidently, for example, we [in Argentina] around the 1960s witnessed major mobilizations by the three branches of the armed forces, particularly the Argentinean Navy, which was able to detect and pursue Unidentified Submarine Objects. USOs …witnessed by the crew complement and officers. Unidentified Submarine Objects in the Argentinean Sea. This even led to some presidents in office at the time such as Juan Carlos Onganía in 1966, President Ilía in the early 1960s to mobilize – through the Ministry of Defense – deployments aimed at the detection of this phenomenon, which they considered to be intruder submarines, while it was subsequently ascertained that they bore no relation whatsoever with any submarine, neither friendly nor hostile, that is to say, from abroad.

Interviewer: Listen, what hopes do you have with regard to this phenomenon? Should we continue making observations, because the Earth is too polluted, and they’ve come to take us to other worlds. What’s your idea about researching this? What’s your motivation to study this, and place so much faith in this regard?

Burgos: Well, on the whole, a researcher looks into what other people have seen. Today, many researchers have been lucky to witness a UFO phenomenon with their own eyes. I went from the year 1969 to 1979 without ever seeing a UFO, ten years of looking to the subject without having seen a thing, and from 1979 to this day I’ve witnessed UFO phenomena on eight different occasions thanks to the night watches we organize, our nocturnal field research, when we set out to find out a case in which the phenomenon has been occurring. We have no aim in particular, we are not contactees, nor do we receive messages. It just so happened that we were able to witness this UFO phenomenon, right? I’ve always said that if UFOs did not exist, why then have I come across, over the past fifty years, with so many government agencies? In other words, we have been investigating the same case alongside the police, aeronautical police, the air force, the gendarmerie, the prefecture, in the same field in a given province in Argentina, that is to say, the two of us engaging in the same research, the difference being that the government agency does not make its results public and we are the first to do so. In other words, if this phenomenon did not exist, I can’t imagine why we’ve crossed paths with these people so often.

Interviewer: So they can’t admit it?

Burgos: Of course, they can’t because they don’t want to, and there is evidently an open secret that nothing should be said. Not only here in Argentina, but also in a large part of South America, in other words, countries in which the United States has considerable influence, for example, Argentinean airspace is covered by North America. Should a strange object fall here, we’ll reach the site only to find it has already been cordoned off and access is denied.

Argentina: A Phantom UFO?

Luis Burgos writes: "An interesting photograph taken at random on Sunday, October 7, at the Gualeguay River (Entre Rios) by Laura Marcocich of the Villaguay Kayak Club. It is not included in the 2018 wave by virtue of being an artifact not visually detected. It even bears a certain similarity with the object photographed in Tucumán and published by Javier López Posse (GIOT) which we include here (courtesy of Yamil López Bantar)."

Argentina: The Necochea Beach Humanoid Photo Analyzed

Argentina: The Necochea Beach Humanoid Photo Analyzed
By Guillermo D. Giménez – Planeta UFO

Necochea is a city located on the Atlantic Coast of the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the county seat and has a major port facility, as it is located at the mouth of the Quequén Grande River and the Argentinean Sea. The city is a chosen destination for thousands of tourist who spend their vacation time in the widest beaches of Argentina. Necochea is considered one of the finest beaches in the country.

The Miguel Lillo Park, with over 640 acres of pines and eucalyptus trees, can be found along the coastline, representing the city’s “lung”, surrounded by médanos (of various types). Further south we find coastal caves produced by sea erosion as well as various cliffs. Added to this, the Quequén River separates the cities of Necochea and Quequén, providing several options to enjoy the various alternatives the city has to offer its visitors and residents alike (water sports, mangrove tours, 4x4 off-roading, etc.)

The Photograph

During the week of November 18, 2013 I received a phone call from a co-worker who sent a strange image taken by her son Alejandro on Sunday, 17 November, a day when temperatures were in excess of 31 degrees centigrade. She added no further details, only asked me to take a look at it and to give her my opinion.

I opened the file and saw two beautiful images of the sunset along the Necochean coastline. But the 2nd photograph showed a strange humanoid figure, very tall, that wasn’t noticed by anyone.
The UFO case histories of the Necochea region are abundant. I have personally investigated many cases over the past 30 years, finding true incidents involving UFO encounters (with witnesses of various social backgrounds and educational levels), cases with photo and film evidence, cases of strange imprints throughout various parts of the city (park, countryside, rural areas), and cases involving UFO occupant encounters (park, beach, etc.). All of these occurred at various points of the city of Necochea (beach, park, river, downtown, countryside, etc.).

The photo in question was taken by a 28 year old named Luis Alejandro Nielsen, a marketing technician with a degree from the University of Belgrano. He is currently employed in the operations division of a major shipping agency. He lives in Necochea with his family.

Alejandro told me: “Guillermo, those photos were taken with an Xperia LC2104 cell phone. Let me tell you that the first photo I took was DSC 0081.jpg (Sunday, November 17, 2013, 7:44:50 PM), a normal photo of the sunset after a spectacular day at the beach. The second photo was DSC 0082.jpg (Sunday, November 17, 2013, 7:45:50 PM)….The photos WERE NOT taken with a zoom function or anything. The resolution is 5 mpx and the aspect ratio is 16:9 (wide, to be seen on an LED TV set). The file size depends on the photo, and for that reason their size is 1.44 MB + or -, but this has nothing to do with the resolution.
Best regards, Luis Alejandro Nielsen”

This then is the main summarized information. The images were submitted for analysis to the Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogía (FAO) led by my friend and renowned researcher Luis Burgos.
Initial results show that it is not a fraud. A humanoid shape of large size can be seen, apparently floating over the sand and not casting a shadow.

Comparative Analysis

This case, which occurred on Sunday, 17 November 2013 on the Necochea coast has an Argentinean analog that was investigated by Luis Burgos and his team, which he called “Los Seres de la Laguna: Una fotografia unica en Argentina?” detailing the apparition on a photograph of a strange entity who was not seen by anyone either.

“According to his story, on 14 March 2010, Easter Week, Ivan D, decided to spend the holiday with his family at Laguna del Monte. Traveling there with his wife Vanina, his two young sons (ages 2 and 8 respectively) and the rest of the family group. A total of eight members. Once by the lakeside, he began taking photos with his digital camera. He took several family and landscape shots between 14 and 16 hours that afternoon.

“Hours later, Ivan.D (38 years old at the time) “….checked the material for that day on his computer, the photo taken of his 8 year old son at 15:56 hours. The boy does not appear in the photo as he quickly darted behind a tree. But he was perplexed: a strange, enigmatic SILHOUETTE, not someone with human features, “appeared” at the edge of the lagoon, at a regular distance from the family group and to the left of the photo. He immediately drew his own conclusions, certain that it wasn’t a regular person… from the multiple photos taken that afternoon, this one was the only one containing the strange figure, following a review of the material.”

[Readers of INEXPLICATA can find an interview with the protagonist at http://inexplicata.blogspot.com/2010/07/lagoon-creature-unique-argentinean.html]

The Morphology

In both cases (Necochea, 2013 and Laguna del Monte, 2010) the similarity between them is repeated. The strange humanoid figure was only seen after the images were dumped into the computer. In both cases, they are anthropomorphic and tall. Analyses showed that there was no fraud involved and that the image in each incident is real. There it is. From all the photos taken that day, this strange figure appears in only one of them.

Final Considerations

The present Necochea case and the Laguna del Monte event constitute, without a doubt, two unique and relevant cases in the Republic of Argentina. Luis Alejandro Nielsen is a young resident of Necochea who works and leads a normal life, his story is reliable, and I also know part of his family for many years. He deserves trust and total assurance in his testimony.
There is no question that the “The Humanoid of Necochea Beach, Argentina” will prompt many discussions in the UFO field, and we will pursue our investigations into the matter.

The UFO Phenomenon in Argentina: Believe or Bust

The UFO Phenomenon in Argentina: Believe or Bust

The first sighting of a strange flying object recorded in the country was in La Plata. An intriguing episode took place in Tolosa. A story enshrouded in mystery and fascination.

On June 29, 1947, a U.S. pilot claimed having run into nine saucer-shaped shiny objects in the air. Ever since then, the term UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) became official and it was recorded in the various similar, inexplicable episodes that took place all over the world.

Nearly 1500 cases have been recorded in the country, evaluated through a complex method of qualification that measures the reliability of the data. Our city is not alien to the phenomenon, which became a passion to many: a year ago, the Centro de Estudios de Fenomenos Aeroespaciales was formed. Carlos Ferguson is a participant in this forum, with over 40 years’ experience in the subject, as well as being the director of the Red Argentina de Ovnilogía.

La Plata, The Pioneer

“The first official case recorded in Argentina occurred in La Plata,” Ferguson told Hoy. It was in July 1947, shortly after the flying saucer boom in North America. “It was a simple sighting. But on the next day, another case occurred in Mar del Plata,” says the expert.

Reports from City Bell and the [capital] city appeared later on, but one of the most distinctive was the Tolosa incident. “It occurred on 26 November 1974 at 10:00 at night. A family began to experience trouble with their television sets, hearing a buzzing sound. When they stepped outside their home, they saw a UFO rising from the garden of the house next to their own. The object took off at high speed. Burn marks were found on the ground the next day, as well as dead birds. “This is impressive because there is an object that nearly touches the ground in a densely populated area, and the witnesses were several. All were interviewed. The house still stands.”

Extraterrestrial Argentina

There were 1470 UFO reports nationwide since 1947, of which some 150 display a high reliability score. “Generally, there is an 80% of confusion with meteorological phenomena,” Ferguson observes. But the in the remaining 20% the data becomes intriguing. “Out of this total, the vast majority are high altitude sightings without much weight. But there is a 15% of incidents in which physical effects were left, making the case interesting.” In this case, marks on the soil or electrical disturbances are counted, as well as photographs or radar evidence, among others. These are followed by a small percentage of “close encounters of the 3rd kind”, in which witnesses see a humanoid figure, and on scarce occasions there are “abduction” incidents. These are less reliable as they generally involve the testimony of a single individual.

Argentina is abundant in examples, but one particular case that struck the researcher was the 2007 Tres Arroyos incident. It all started when two police cruisers were alerted by residents of the community of Irene about the sighting of a strange object. When the first patrol car arrived, the officers came across a UFO. And as if this wasn’t enough, one of the police officers (surnamed Bracamonte, age 60) saw a humanoid figure. “The squad cars were died, and the officers suffered physical effects,” says Ferguson. In fact, Bracamonte complained of not having received enough psychological care following his experience.

Pilots and UFOs

We have 51 cases involving encounters between pilots and UFOs. The expert has just published “Pilotos y Ovnis en Argentina”. Out of these episodes the Bariloche Incident (31 July 1995) is among the most disquieting. The pilot described the UFO as a metallic craft measuring 30 meters in diameter that placed itself some 40 meters from the aircraft during its descent. At the same time, a blackout engulfed the city of Bariloche. “Pilot Jorge Polanco remained extraordinarily calm, and managed to get out of the situation.” The object turned, accelerated and went away. “They saw it make a right angle and vanish. There is no human aircraft able to make such maneuvers,” says Ferguson.

These phenomena are startling. If someone from another planet wants to contact us, why can they do so in a more straightforward manner? “No one can say for sure that a UFO comes from this place or that. What is clear is that sightings by pilots since the 1950s ratify what ordinary witnesses have been saying. The challenge consists in unraveling, once and for all, what this is, why it is coming here, and what are its intentions.”

UFO Crashes and Blackouts in Northern Argentina

UFO Crashes and Blackouts in Northern Argentina
By Scott Corrales

Google Earth is one of those Internet-age novelties that have made the world smaller and more accessible for the armchair explorer, relegating the old atlas and travel guide to the bookcase. Typing in a few words will take you to places that you’re unlikely to see in a lifetime, or even in many lifetimes (ninety per cent of us are tied to our jobs!). This surely applies to the vast spaces of Northern Argentina, where satellite images present the viewer with lonely roads, the odd farmstead, endless cultivated fields or wilderness areas bordering the vast and unforgiving Andean Cordillera and its tributary mountain chains. These brown, black, grey and sometimes green spaces are relegated by human cartography as brightly colored provinces with names that do not quite connect to the barren landscape – Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán – and towns whose nomenclature ranges from native toponyms to those of brave settlers who gambled their lives in colonizing the area.

This strange land is made stranger by the disquieting presence of the unexplained.

In August 1957, less than twenty kilometers from the town of Quilino, Province of Cordoba, a serviceman with the Argentinean Air Force heard a very loud and acute buzzing sound. He got out of his tent to take a look and was startled to see a disk-shaped object coming in for a landing, causing a whirlwind that shook surrounding trees and grass. Frightened, the airman reached for his sidearm but was unable to draw it. “It appeared to be welded to its holster,” he would later say. A voice issued from the unknown craft, assuaging his fear and informing him “interplanetary visitors already had a base in the region of Salta” and would soon make their presence known all over the world.

Readers of Coral Lorenzen’s 1960s books on the UFO phenomenon were exposed to the case histories that were being collected in these early, memorable years. Cities like Salta became known to readers not just for “flying saucer” sightings, but for mysterious disappearances as well, much like the small towns of La Pampa would become familiar names to readers of the ‘90s and the ‘00s, especially those interested in cattle mutilations. Gordon Creighton’s Flying Saucer Review presented even more detailed accounts of high strangeness in Argentina: giant multi-eyed entities emerging from glowing saucers, a family trapped in their farmhouse by six heat-ray emitting UFOs, the heroic escape of truck driver Eugenio Douglass from twelve-foot tall helmeted aliens--matching their heat-rays with bullets--and the abduction of Dionisio Llanca, with its startling posthypnotic command implanted by the UFO entities. Argentinean investigators, while little-known in the United States, have distinguished themselves for their scholarship in Latin American ufology: Guillermo Roncoroni, for instance, conducted the first statistical analysis of the myriad cases that have made Argentina famous, thus compiling ARGENCAT, which aided in proving that the BAVIC line indeed had as much influence over Argentina as it did in Spain or France. He went on to publish UFO Express, which was considered for years to be one of the most important journals available on the subject in Spanish.

When Objects Fall From The Sky

Reports on UFO crashes make two demands from the reader, the first being a belief in extraterrestrials engaged in visiting Sol 3 for reasons that we cannot possibly imagine, and the other being that their technology is vulnerable to our own. Both beliefs must be in abundance, to judge by public interest in the Roswell Incident. Perhaps there’s room at the table for believing in another, even more spectacular affair: the 1995 crash near Metán.

According to researcher Guillermo Aldunati, an object fell from the sky on the sunny afternoon of either the 17th or 18th of August, 1995 near the mountain known as El Crestón, neighboring the city of Metán. His report suggested that “thousands of people” had witnessed the UFOs maneuvers, and that it had apparently been shot down “by air-to-air missiles” from another, unknown type of aircraft, described as being triangular in shape (an F-117 Stealth fighter?)

“ Hours later,” read Mr. Aldunati’s report “ a small private plane flew over the crash site and it too fell to the ground. The pilot later said that source of electromagnetic energy caused his plane to crash.” Although his name was not featured in the initial communication, the pilot in question was crop-duster Antonio Galvagno, whose experience and near-collision as a result of this incident led him to become a valuable member of the Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogía, and his name has been mentioned prominently in reports on the 2009 incident involving a UFO “mothership” flying over the city of Joaquin V. Gonzalez.

The fact remains that something happened near Metán, and that an effort was made to cover it up. The landscape displayed clear signs of the impact of an object that had been dragged for many kilometers, leaving a wide, burned scar on the ground, which allegedly remains cordoned off to this very day. The force of this impact was such that seismometers were set in motion some ninety miles away.

Government agencies responded to the collision as any official authority would, sending out rescue and recovery teams from the town of Rosario de Lerma in the belief that badly injured survivors would be found from an object that “exploded in mid-air”— according to the residents of small communities who excitedly described the incident, the deafening explosion and the resulting earthquake sensation.

The rescue and recovery team, led by Pedro Olivera, reached the foothills of 9000-foot El Crestón and found the ruined landscape of charred vegetation and blackened rocks. If newspaper accounts are to be trusted, a metallic object was at the center of the ruined terrain (whether an alien probe or terrestrial rocket booster was never established). Olivera’s team reported their finding and was inexplicably told to abort their mission and return home.

In subsequent days, local residents reportedly witnessed all terrain vehicles driven by “English-speaking personnel” heading toward the crash site. An anonymous report from an employee of the Universidad Nacional de Salta claimed that the foreign personnel was escorted by University personnel and technicians from a local nuclear power plant (not mentioned, but possibly the CNEA conversion plant at Pilcaniyeu near Bariloche or the Canadian-built Embalse plant in Córdoba)

The unnamed source made a further claim that hearkened Roswell: the outsiders had recovered pieces of material – slivers of a material resembling aluminum that “assumed a concave shape when joined” with an “an unusual consistency” – and that orders were given to characterize the event as an meteorite impact, displaying the appropriate chunks of rock to the media. On September 1, 1995, journalist Raúl Córdoba stated his belief that “NASA personnel” had visited Northern Argentina in an effort to conceal the truth, finding willing cat’s-paws in the administration of the Universidad Nacional de Salta.

Parallels were soon drawn with the 1979 crash near the Bolivian city of Tarija, which received coverage in the UFO press, both national and overseas. But only a year early, the sleepy community of Villa Mercedes had experienced its own brush with the unknown, jamming the switchboard of the local radio station with calls reporting “a procession” of fifty UFOs across the night skies in May of that year. Broadcaster Otto Gall was able to see the wedge-shaped formation of blue-green objects between 22:15 hours and midnight.

According to a sergeant at the Villa Reynolds airfield, not far from Villa Mercedes, the objects traveled at approximately fifteen thousand feet and resembled oval-shaped craft without any signs of portholes, and making no noise whatsoever. Argentinean “ham” operators were able to monitor communications from Chile, across the majestic Andes, announcing that a massive fleet of “platillos voladores” had just penetrated their airspace

Allegations of a UFO crash also followed in the wake of this 1978 incident. A tremendous explosion, suggesting a ground impact, prompted the National Gendarmerie to send out forces to comb the region that includes the communities of Las Pavas, Baritú and Los Toldos in the hopes of finding whatever it was that had fallen out of the night skies.

Newspaper stories claimed that the unknown object had fallen to the bottom of a ravine known as Bolsón de los Fantasmas near the community of Santa Victoria – information that was corrected by military sources, who indicated that the collision had occurred near the town of Orán. The Argentinean military conducted a fruitless search along the Bolivian border, only to learn that the Bolivians were also looking for another downed object.

In the words of UFO researcher Mercedes Casas, based in Salta, Argentina “Ever since the famous 1978 crash on the border between Bolivia and the province of Salta, UFO activity never ceased in the Tarija region. Reports of nocturnal lights moving in odd patterns – zigzags rather than straight lines – continued for months after the crash when everything had ostensibly quieted down. There is a tremendous influx of Bolivians into Salta, looking for better opportunities,” she continues. “They all have stories to tell involving bizarre nocturnal lights, particularly those hailing from the rural areas.”

A History of Blackouts

One of the most fascinating and disturbing aspects of UFO activity in Latin America, from Mexico down to Tierra del Fuego, is the effect of unidentified craft on the power grid. Entire cities have witnessed strange objects over their streets before blackouts, and others have written detailed reports on their impact on specific power stations. One of the most important characteristics of the November 2009 incident at Joaquin V. Gonzalez centers around the electromagnetic effect exerted by the cigar-shaped “mothership” over a turbine at the El Tunal power station and a number of light posts along a highway – spaced at regular intervals on a road that appears to have visited by the enigmatic object.

This “EM Effect” can be traced back to cases 40 years in the past. Argentinean author Roberto Banchs mentions the July 4, 1968 blackout that darkened the entire sector of Tigre (province of Buenos Aires). During this incident, a number of witnesses reported seeing a UFO. A woman named Isabel Gómez stated that the object "seemed to emit light. It was the only lighted object at the time." The unknown object was reported at 2300 hours that evening, and described as a “large, splendid source of light”.

A few months later, the city of Chascomús was plunged into darkness. Mrs. Blanca Davis witnessed a UFO measuring some 7 or 8 meters in diameter hanging motionless in the air, directly above the town square. "When we looked toward the west," she reported, "we saw two [more] discs and another one which gave the impression of being ready to land. Suddenly the UFOs headed toward the lagoon area, from which twenty more objects appeared, flying from north to south at fantastic speeds." Banchs reports that electricity was restored the moment the objects disappeared.

Not even majestic Buenos Aires was spared these sudden power failures. On December 26, 1965, the city and all of its suburbs in a 40-mile radius were left in the dark. Hours turned into days before service was restored – even as the country experienced one of the great UFO flaps of the decade.

In 1974, it was the city of Cordoba’s turn to light candles as unidentified flying objects flew overhead. Marcelo Lublinksy, a correspondent for the defunct CEFAI research organization, reported that a 30 minute, city-wide blackout had taken place on the 16th of October even as people reported having seen luminous objects flying overhead toward the northeast. “The electric company reports that no defects were found in its equipment.”

Back to the Present

Early on November 26, 2009, while Northern Argentina endured the rigors of an unusually hot summer for the Southern Hemisphere, people either tossed and turned in their beds, waiting for the expected relief of a thunderstorm that would never come in the end, while others sought relief in the open air, whether from eating frozen desserts or simply sitting at outdoor restaurants open at that late hour. This, at least, was the scene in the community of Joaquin V. Gonzalez (Lat. 25.0833, Long. 64.1833), named after the famous Argentinean educator. Most reports coincide on 0200 hours as the time when over a hundred witnesses, at last count, were treated to the awe-inspiring sight of an otherworldly object, described in newspaper articles as “a strange, gigantic luminous creature, elongated and weightless” embarking on a precise trajectory toward the hydroelectric power station at El Tunal on the Juramento River, twenty-one miles distant toward the southeast, part of the massive Cabra Corral system, perhaps the most important in the Argentinean Northwest. The object made flew over the bemused onlookers, making intermittent flashes of light and with a fixed red beacon on its forward structure. The unknown visitor faded away into the darkness and within minutes – some say five, others fifteen – the entire region surrounding Joaquin V. Gonzalez and its soybean farms was left dark, a sure sign that the object had reached El Tunal. Power would not be restored for another nine hours, and other services had also been affected, such as vital phone service to this remote community.EDESA, owner of the 132 kV Cabra Corral system, confirmed the lack of electricity only minutes after the blackout, adding that it was impossible to find the failure, which had occurred at the main power station located at El Tunal. The problem? “A burned-out generator”

According to UFO researcher Luis Burgos “the blackout occurred some fifteen or twenty minutes after the object was sighted over Joaquin V. Gonzalez, and right when it hovered over the generating plant at El Tunal.” To Burgos, the protagonist of yesterday’s episode was “what we call a mothership, a sort of space aircraft carrier measuring no less than 200-300 meters long, and which usually issues smaller UFOs measuring between 8 and 10 meters in size, which later return to the [mothership].”

This will be neither the last nor most spectacular incident involving unknown craft in this part of the world. Only time will tell.

Argentina: The 1963 Trancas Case Revisited

Keith Bastianini's "Night of the Saucers" depicts the mind-bending experiences of the Moreno family.

Argentina: The 1963 Trancas CE-2 / CE-3 Revisited

The best known episode of an alleged UFO landing and occupant manifestation in Argentina took place in Trancas, Tucumán, 48 years ago.

The event was among the most important in the history of unidentified flying objects. It is an episode that has been considered as “an unassailable case and irrefutable proof” within the voluminous and strange pages of ufology. It has also been considered one of the most exceptional events of the history of the UFO problem due to the abundance and quality of the eyewitnesses, the prolonged viewing of the event, and the discovery of physical residue in the area, constituting “the most powerful evidence” in favor of the unusual phenomenon. Since then, the Trancas Case became a “super-classic case of global ufology”, according to the Mexican website www.perspectivas.com.mx.

On Monday, October 31, 1963, two young women – Argentina, 28 and Jolié, 21 – along with their small children Victoria, Nancy and Guillermo, came in from Rosario, where they lived, to San Miguel de Tucumán, traveling from there to the “Santa Teresa” ranch in Villa de Trancas, where they would meet with parents – Antonio, 72, and Teresa, 63 – and their other sister, Yolanda, 30.

A reason for this visit was that their husbands, both Army officers, had to take part in military maneuvers scheduled for that time period, and would be leaving from Tucumán to Salta the following morning, going by Trancas.

They had an early dinner and exhausted by the trip, everyone went to sleep in their respective rooms. At around 21:00 hours, Dora Guzmán, 15, a domestic worker living in the back of the house, appeared repeatedly, stating that she could see lights on the railroad embankment, located 200 meters in front of the ranch.

The parents were asleep, Argentina was reading and Jolié paid the matter no importance, since she had to feed four-month-old Guillermo. Yolanda, meanwhile, thought it might be a passenger bus.

Finally, Dora prevailed upon the sisters to check out the “strange lights” she was seeing. It was a set of five lights, a hundred meters distant from each other or less, three in front and three slightly farther behind to the north (northeast). They blinked on and off with a certain intermittent quality, shedding beams of light in various directions, even lighting up the farm (the farmhouse and the henhouse).

They had no discernible shape, looking like sources of light. The frightened women suspected that it could be a railroad accident (it was common for trains to run into cattle) or it could be a team of workers repairing the tracks, as they could see some human silhouettes moving around the sources of light some 500 meters or more to the north.

The fear level increased when Yolanda noted the possibility that they might be guerrillas engaged in an act of sabotage (by pulling up the tracks or planting bombs), bearing in mind the rural guerilla warfare of Taco Ralo in southern Tucumán in late 1962. Moreover, the women’s’ husbands were scheduled to pass over those tracks in a matter of hours aboard a military train, and they were alone with their sick father and unprotected minor children.

Searching for another explanation, one of the sisters remembered reading that flying saucers had been seen in various parts of the world, and particularly the case involving truck driver [Eugenio] Douglas (who had seen a device with several entities only days earlier, in Monte Maíz, and had been burned by a thin beam of light). She suggested the possibility that such vehicles could be involved.

They decided to go out to get a better look. Seeing a dim greenish light, they thought it might be a pickup truck driven by one of the farmhands and went to the gate.

They suddenly found themselves bathed in a light emanating from a source eight meters distant. In an instant, they noticed that there was a vehicle measuring some 8 x 3 meters, with a turret and large rivets on its surface. They were so shocked that Yolanda lost her footing, tripped and in seconds they were inside the home once more.

The 15-year-old servant girl came in, screaming that she had been burned, but Argentina and Yolanda ascertained that she was merely frightened. At this point the entire household was awake. The father, in the grip of a nervous condition, tried to go out, but was held back by his daughters.

The doors were bolted shut. The family looked out at the phenomenon through half-shuttered windows. One of the young women believed that the beams of light were piercing the walls, but another insisted that they were only coming through the cracks. The same one believed that the beams were extending and retracting at will, but it turned out that they only did so at floor level on certain occasions.

The situation was desperate. The mother prayed, the servant wept, the sisters screamed and ran from one room to another, following the alternatives. The witnesses noted that the atmosphere within the house became heavy and overly warm. The nearest object (“F”) made a noise similar to machinery in operation, but they could only see a thick and growing mist surrounding it, as well as some lights that gave the appearance of six windows. They were unable to tell if the object was suspended over the ground or resting upon it (the allegedly flattened vegetables were subsequently found there).

Forty minutes elapsed until object “F” – the one that appeared to direct the activities – moved eastward and the others did the same, vanishing toward the Sierras de Medinas, some 20-25 kilometers distant.

[The sisters] later ran to the neighboring homes to inform them about what had happened, but few neighbors saw anything. Francisco Tropiano, a bordering neighbor, managed to see the eastern end of the site, facing his own farm, brightly lit after 22:00 hours.

No one slept that night in the Moreno household. In the morning, Jolié went to the train station to send a telegram to her brother Antonio, who lived in San Miguel de Tucumán at the time of the incident. By the time he received the message – due to the procedure – many other people had heard about it. Even journalists, who did not delay in appearing. Police intervention was subsequently requested. Minutes were drawn up, and the site was placed under custody for a few days without further developments. The Chemical Engineering Institute at the University of Tucumán was asked to analyze the dusty white residue found at the site where the lights had been seen. It turned out to be calcium carbonate with potassium carbonate impurities.

The La Gaceta newspaper provided ample coverage on the event, and continued to report on it for many days later.

Journalist Arturo Alvarez Sosas remembers: “Along with then news director Ventura Murga and photographer Ernesto González, we went to Trancas to chronicle the experiences of the Moreno family. At the time we didn’t know that the phenomenon would unleash such an accumulation of stories and that the movies would finally make all nations of Earth aware of a “close encounter of the third kind” as described by Dr. J. Allen Hynek.”

Jolié Moreno also notes: “My mother was desperate and my sisters were running around. My son was asleep in his little bed, perspiring in such a way that...outside were those lights, lighting everything up, moving intelligently and those figures...it was like Steven Spielberg’s film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which was authorized base on the information that existed on this case. I authorized it.”

Argentina's 2018 UFO Flap - So Far

Argentina's 2018 UFO Flap - So Far

Luis Burgos states
: According to our Decimal Hypothesis, which we have been developing since 1985 with great efficacy. It is very likely that an increase in UFO sightings will occur in Argentina and neighboring countries during 2018. Despite the fact that 2016 and 2017 were considerably lacking in sightings, using the TWO LARGEST UFO WAVES - 1968 and 1978 - would suggest a renewed saucer effect over Argentina. We must be mindful, because a "UFO Flap" brings with it a swarm of additional situations of all kinds in the heavens, waters and land.

Statistics for the phenomenon point out that all manner of events occur during each instance of a UFO Flap: Sightings, ground marks on fields, humanoid sightings, video and photographic evidence, mysterious skyfalls, atmospheric explosions, undersea objects, etc. In 2018 we also have cattle mutilations, which go hand in hand with saucer reports. For the time being, our Decimal Hypothesis remains strong.

Moreover - as a separate entry - the journalistic media, particularly in the interior, is offering a constant treatment of the subject, reporting everything that people are seeing in their respective regions. We would like to thank FAO and ICOU's members, consultants and collaborators. At the end of the year, of course, there will be an evaluation of cases and HIGH STRANGENESS events will be extracted.

Argentina: Fundacion Argentina de Ovnilogia Schedules Meeting for Mendoza

Source: Diario UNO
Date: July 6, 2009

Argentina: Fundación Argentina de Ovnilogia (FAO) Schedules Meeting in Mendoza

This province was chosen by the number of sightings reported in 2008. Most of the reports issued from the Mendoza, Malargue, San Rafael and Tupungato.

Throughout 2008 and up to mid-March ’09, Fundacion Argentina de Ovnilogia (FAO) was made aware of, or received and analyzed, 13 UFO reports from various parts of Mendoza.

Between mid-January and late December 2008, FAO recorded 11 events of that nature plus two more in the first quarter of 2009.

Faced with this “preponderance” of reports, as described by Luis Burgos, leader of the organization, it was decided that the Primeras Jornadas Mendocinas de Ovnilogía (First Mendozan UFO Conference) should be held in Mendoza in October or November with a series of activities linked to the subject, to include a skywatch aimed at detecting any mysterious objects, in hopes of stimulating locals to report any sightings.

Several of the cases from Mendoza, aside from eyewitness accounts, were accompanied by photos of the experiences themselves, taken with either digital or cellphone cameras. Some of these images can be seen at www.visionovni.com.ar and www.codigoovni.com.ar.

Regardless, Burgos has told UNO from La Plata that “some of these images were classified as questionable by Jorge Figueiras, our analyst.” This is due to the fact that they could have been mistaken observations caused by sunlight.

The city of Mendoza, Malargue, San Rafael and Tupungato are the places that gave rise to the greatest number of reports, averaging two and three each. But reports also came from Maipu, Potrerillos and Palmira. These cases increased to 685, as recorded by FAO over a 15-month period in the country – a level of activity that can be classified as a “wave” -- and some of these experiences involved “phantom UFOs” plus a disquieting bedroom visitation reported by one woman.

Local eyewitness accounts form part of two reports: La Oleada Ovni 2008 and Los Tiempos Han Venido: Sigue La Oleada Ovni 2009, drafted by Burgos, who stresses that the events ended with the summer [Editors’s Note: meaning the end of our winter in the northern hemisphere].

The majority of the reported sightings – some identified as “questionable” by FAO – occurred in the afternoon and in regions adjacent to the Cordilleran foothills.

The objects allegedly photographed, according to accounts, are disk-shaped, spindle-shaped, classic saucers and lights (at night).

One of the constants is that they flew from east to west. To Burgos, this is among many mysteries, but he does not dismiss the possibility of “an air corridor, something like a virtual road” that is set in motion cyclically. “There were waves in 1968 and 1978,” he notes.

Among the many sightings mentioned by Burgos there is one dated April 3, 2008 in Malargue. It involves the photo taken at 18:50 by Felix Fernandez of the Dirección Provincial de Vialidad with his cellphopne. It was taken as the witness and his friends returned from La Punta, says the ufologist.

Suddenly, a strange object began flying over the region for 15 minutes up to the Chacay region. It stood still for a moment and then vanished westward. Fernandez managed to take some photos, which he submitted to FAO. After analysis, the case was described as questionable, says Burgos.

Another published report dates from December 22. “Norberto Luna (a FAO correspondent) tells us of a sighting witnessed by Jose Schiaffino at 20:00 hrs. He saw a strange silvery object heading westward toward the Cordillera, gaining speed as it did so.”

Bolivia: Remembering the Tarija UFO Crash (6 May 1978)

38 Years Since Mysterious Object Fell at the Border
An unidentified flying object fell to the ground at the border between Bolivia and Argentina. Eyewitnesses remember that moment. According to their stories, NASA was involved.

38 years after a metallic and incandescent object fell at the border between Bolivia and Argentina, there are enduring mysteries about what took place on May 6, 1978.

Elias Vacaflor, a witness to the events 38 years ago, says that NASA was on the scene and did not say a word about what was taken away after the UFO crash. According to the former congressman, letters were sent to the government - both to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Relations, without replies having ever been received. They only agreed that it was a "subject that did not give rise to any concerns."

"I remember that the sky lit up in an unusual way due to the flying of an object resembling a cylinder flying for Northwest to Southeast," says Vacaflor.

Residents of Mecoya, Mecoyita, Sidras, La Merced and other communities surrounding the crash area also witnessed the object and heard the subsequent explosion. Residents of Argentina, the neighboring country, also felt it, and the press offered information on the extraordinary event. The Clarín newspaper ran the headline "UFO Found on the Border Between Argentina and Bolivia."

Journalist Juan Antonio Abarzúa, who worked for El Tribuno de Salta at the time, said that NASA helicopters arrived at the crash site.

Abarzúa, who formed part of that newspaper's visit to the scene, coincided with another team headed by physicist Orlando Bravo. He says that upon reaching the crash site, they found a scene of total destruction: a mountain - Cerro El Salle - had been destroyed, leaving a furrowed crater measuring 1,500 meters long, 800 meters wide and 50 meters deep (4920 ft. x 2600 ft. x 160 ft.).

Residents of Mecoya had already told them that the "gringos had taken away" the remains of whatever had fallen there.

Luis Burgos: 332 Cases in Argentina in 2009

Luis Burgos: 332 UFO Cases in Argentina in 2009

Argentina is a vast theater of operations for the alien civilizations that visit us. This what experts in the subject believe, and of course, the repetition of incidents that attest to this phenomenon. Sightings of vehicles, abductions, ground evidence; bedroom visitations and other exceptional situations are described in a quotidian manner by a countless number of witnesses. This year was no exception, and up to late September, the count stood at 332 cases. All of these are under study due to their considerable credibility quotient and they make Argentina one of the areas most frequented by alien visitors.

The figure is the result of the detailed work of noted researcher Luis Burgos, president of the Fundacion Argentina de Ovnilogia, who told Expedientes Secretos that despite the high number of episodes recorded during the first nine months of 2009, “we are actually in a plateau phase, which is typical after last year’s great UFO wave, which ended with 550 reported cases. The plateau phase is to be expected, which occurs in a slow, constant downturn. The 2008 effect endured throughout the country in the summer, but once the fall began, the UFO phenomenon behaved as it has been expected to behave for over six decades and its activity decreased. Only those areas known as hot-spots retained their activity, although some of these also experienced a decrease [in activity].”

The Province of Buenos Aires, according to FAO study, is a key region that includes the Federal Capital area. “The Porteño region reports permanent sightings of strange flying objects, even with diurnal and nocturnal photographs and videos. For example, the material presented by Hector Boetto (www.cieloaguatierra.blogspot.com). Unidentified air traffic over the Argentinean capital is still a pending matte, especially with the total passivity of the media and government authorities...The area of Vicente Lopez, to the north of the city, is one of the highest UFO manifestation areas in the entire country. Incredibly, events are reported at different times of day in Munro, Olivos, Florida, etc. and a considerable quantity of photos of these objects are taken, such as the remarkable sightings by Matías Mannara in Munro (www.solidaevidencia.com.ar) and Bibiana Bryson (www.freewebs.com/bibianabryson/misavistamientos.com), which include unique documents showing spindle-shaped UFOs among others. Phantom UFOs have also been picked up at Villa Ballester, near Vicente Lopez,” says Burgos in his report.

Burgos highlights in his report that “lovely Mar del Plata always surprises us with manifestations of all types, and while it isn’t the exceptional case history offered by the 1960s to the 1990s, in recent years, the Sierra de los Padres area has turned into a new area for “phantom UFOs”. Proof of this can be seen in the permanent records obtained by Graciela Donalisio and Leonardo Rieger.”

Argentina: Couple Almost "Taken" By a Light in the Old Huergo Resort

Argentina: Couple Almost "Taken" By a Light in the Old Huergo Resort

**What Happened and What Activities Take Place at Night in that Area?**

HUERGO. Two friends lived through an odyssey at the so-called old resort in this locality. A man and a woman were listening to music inside a vehicle parked approximately 100 meters from the 'little beach' of the old resort. Both friends had visited the spot with the intention having a drink, enjoying the landscape and listening to music around 3:30 a.m... All was normal, except for the wind becoming stronger at that time. But something flooded the car in a powerful white light. Everything inside the car turned off, including both people's cellphones. The car began to shake and move.

"It was a moment I don't care to relive ever. The car was parked but running due to the need for heat; the stereo was on, when suddenly that white light appeared right over my car. Everything lost power, even the cellphones. The car began to shake and a whistling sound could be heard, but not from the wind, it was due to something else. I don't know, I can't explain it properly. My friend couldn't get out of the car due to her nervousness; I opened the door and began to get out, but I was unable to keep my balance and I had to hop, as did my friend. We ran toward the trees, and when we looked at the light it turned off. A loud whistling sound could be heard along with the noise made by the car, as though it [the light] was falling. But I couldn't make out any shapes. The light was very bright, LED-type and gave off warmth. We waited under the trees for some 20 minutes and went back to the car, but it was dead - no battery. It took us around an hour to get it started by pushing. The cellphones were also dead," added the man, who did not want to give his name or his friend's name due to security concerns.

"Imagine if I file a report or give you my information. The first thing people will say is that we were either drunk or drugged. What we saw and experienced was not a joke, and was not pleasant."

Ultimas Noticias visited the site described by the person by nothing unusual was detected aside from the vehicle's tire marks, and the tire they left behind to mark the scene of the event.

We asked people on the river if activity of this sort was frequent in the area and all remarked something similar.

"A few years ago I was fishing with some friends and we saw a light that came out from behind the boardwalk. It rose high in the air and then descended, hanging over the river for a few seconds before disappearing," explained a fisherman.

"Here you'll find many people who have seen the lights. Many talk about them and others keep their experiences to themselves, but it's true that strange things are seen in this area," stated a man who was fishing with his family.

Argentina: More on the "Giant Humanoid" Photograph

We are still awaiting an official analysis from Luis Burgos and the FAO team on the nature of the alleged "Giant Humanoid" photograph taken on the beaches of Necochea.

In the meantime, Mundo Esotérico Paranormal (http://www.mundoesotericoparanormal.com/fotografia-muestra-humanoide-gigante-argentina/) had the following to say on its 10 December 2013 post, translated below:

Photograph Displays a Giant Humanoid
MEP - 10 December 2013

Last year, media reported on a surprising photograph that appeared to show a transparent alien creature photographed by a police officer near [China's] Jianming Lake, located at an altitude of 3,313 meters in the southern part of the central plateau at Taitung.

A photo hoax was suspected at first until experts analyzed the photo to ascertain its authenticity. Their conclusion was that no further editing was in evidence. The snapshot was taken by Chan Yung-huang, a policeman walking around Lake Jianming with his colleagues on 14 May of last year. Chen said he noticed nothing unusual as he took a photo of a mountain. Later, the photograph would clearly show a large creature of extraterrestrial origin with a transparent body and webbed hands, which constituted proof of alien visitation to ufological experts. Now a new photograph in Argentina shows an extraterrestrial human on a beach. As occured in Lake Jianming, there were also witnesses who claimed seeing nothing unusual.

The alleged entity appeared in a photograph taken during a sunset in Argentina on 19 November [2013] according to several websites devoted to the subject. In this case, the photo appears to display a humanoid form on the coastline. As can further be seen in the image, there is a vehicle parked at the edge of the water with four people enjoying the sunset. The bystanders are seemingly unaware of the strange figure.

Experts have looked into the photograph, publishing the analyzed image of the alleged alien. According to specialized media, the photos were submitted for analysis by Guillermo D. Gimenez, who did not take the photo, as its author wished to remain anonymous. The photo was examined by the renowned Fundacion Argentina de Ovnilogia (FAO) directed by Luis Burgos of La Plata, a respected ufologist with over 40 years' experience in the subject.

Other experts also analyzed the mysterious image: "If we look at the astonishing photograph, you'll notice a car parked at the water's edge with four people watching the sunsed, unaware of the alien's presence. This suggests that the entity was "cloaked" and only visible to the camera eye. I personally think it is an authentic image as it seemingly does not display any signs of being edited via Photoshop-type programs. It is also necessary to add that a more exhaustive analysis of the photo and the camera will be needed to discard any possible anomalies," explained a UFO analyis.

Skeptics have also weighed in on the matter: Juan Carlos Victorio states in his blog (misteriosdelaire.blogspot.com) that "the explanation is a very simple one, but some prefer the more fantastic and surreal hypotheses. Shortly before the photo displaying the figure was taken, another was shown. This one is not usually depicted in the articles and entries posted on the Internet on this incident - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP0zGCAI4mUQrgC5NDI7M4nMAnxTKgzt240a5p6nTJ2HXjXIKy2KAR89VzMLjKBOxzP0V-Z6rKXRJCAbsAoyD-EkmVRZq75ng9gKUBAPpZ8pSzpay0ykh-x9k3pFwSLzn5IVO2_Q/s1600/1483431_10202087611968462_1813573238_n.jpg - A simple variation in perspective (the photograph crouches to take the second photo) of a person standing between the Sun and the camera gives us a giant alien."

INEXPLICATA will continue posting opinion on this controversial image and any subsequent examinations.

Argentina: Navy Declassifies Case Involving UFO over Necochea

The Argentinean Navy published a series of documents pertaining to a UFO sighting in Necochea in 1962. The documents present the eyewitness account of a truck driver pursued by a flying saucer in the vicinity of La Dulce.

CEFORA (Commission for the Study of the UFO Phenomenon in the Republic of Argentina) recently published an Argentinean Navy file disclosing the details of an important UFO sighting event that took place in our city some 55 years ago.

On August 29, 1962, Osman Alberto Simonini told his story of a UFO encounter in the vicinity of Km 28 of Route 86. Simonini was in his truck, driving out of La Dulce from the "Malabrigo" mink farm, property of Ernesto Arias. The case become widely known through an article in Ecos Diarios: the Navy commission launched its investigation through Capt. Omar Pagani and the files now form part of the private archive of researcher Roberto Banchs.

The incident took place at around 20:10 hours as Simonini drove at slow speed and noticed - to his left and following a parallel trajectory, at a distance of 3 meters and an elevation of 2 meters - an "artifact" resembling two plates linked by their widest sides, the color of gunmetal, having an approximate diameter of 5 meters.

The object projected red-and-blue beams similar to headlights from its lower section. The beams had a diameter of two meters, according to the description.

Simonini said that the artifact accompanied his truck for some 200 meters. As it did so, the driver noticed that the grass moved as well, proof of its low altitude and some sort of "air or energy" expelled from its lower section.

The object overtook the truck after the 200 hundred meters, racing ahead some 600 meters along the shoulder at low altitude. Upon reaching Km 26, it made a sharp right-angle turn into a seedbed. Simonini followed it and saw the object had stopped at an altitude lower than one meter. He stopped his truck and got up, and tried to approach the fence separating the field from the road, placing his hands on the wire only to find that the material was hot. He removed his hands, set them down again, only to find that [the wire] was even hotter. He moved some meters along, ascertaining that the wire there was completely cold.

Two minutes later, the object took up at high speed and vanished into the sky.

The witness stated his case to the border superintendent, the head of the federal police delegation, and Air Force officers in Mar del Plata with the support of notary Juan José La Terza, who stated that the following verbatim response was received when the incident was brought up [with these authorities]:

"The officers specializing in these studies told me there was nothing extraordinary about the event, as this kind of phenomenon was already accepted as real, and that the scientific world was waiting for the next stage: making contact with these artifacts."

At the time, Guillermo Gimenez (a member of CEFORA [and INEXPLICATA's contributing editor for Argentina]) conducted an exhaustive on-site investigation in the area, after Juan José La Terza got in touch with him. The article can be found at the following link http://www.visionovni.com.ar/archivos/1332 (in Spanish).

The documentation contains the report by notary La Terza, who acted as a sort of attorney-in-fact for witness Simonini.

Argentina: Cylindrical Object Recorded in Entre Rios

Video provided by LUIS BURGOS (ICOU/FAO) to Inexplicata, showing the flight of a cylindrical object in Argentina. An excruciatingly detailed analysis with follow-ups by photography expert Luis Bianchi proves that it is not a man-made object - this detail confirmed by correspondence with the proprietors of two advanced tech rocket launching companies in Argentina. Recording was made on 12.04.2021, 16:47 hrs approx. at Gualeguaychu, Entre Rios, Argentina, using an iPhone SE cellular phone.

Argentina: Man About to "Go" in the Wilderness is Beaten by an Imp.

Argentina: Man About to "Go" in the Wilderness is Beaten by an Imp.

Construction worker went into the bush for a bowel movement and was attacked by an imp, requiring assistance due to being in shock. He lost his speech.

A 35-year-old rural worker required assistance at a private clinic in the locality of Tinogasta (Catamarca)  after being approached and beaten by an individual he described as an 'imp'. The strange incident occurred in 2011 and became public knowledge in the country, causing commotion.

The incident began when the man moved away from his work fellows to relieve himself and felt someone 'tapping him on the back.'

Immediately following, what he described - after regaining speech while being cared for at the clinic - was how an individual about the size of a small boy, with an enormous hat, dressed in black and whose face cannot be seen, gave him a swift kick in the backside.

"I turned around and he kicked me in the rear. I tried to keep walking, but my legs felt very heavy, too weak to move them. Furthermore, I felt chills," said the man, whose identity was not released. His statements were made known by the El Esquiú.com

"It was all very strange, bu I started to walk back to where the rest of my co-workers were. I looked back every so often to see if he was there and was following me," said the rural worker.

He later added: "I managed to cross a wire fence. I could only see the path I was following because everything else was confusing. I saw him on the other side and he spoke to me in a hoarse voice, calling to me and telling me to go away, that he would not hurt me further."

The man's co-workers, finding him speechless and in shock, took him to the Virgen del Valle clinic.

Doctor Sofía Bellido of that care center noted that the man - who suffered from 'a nervous breakdown' when brought to the clinic - had palpitations, hypertension and was unable to utter a single word."

The physician maintained that "the man underwent an event in the wilderness that we were unable to fully determine, but using hand signals and writing on a piece of paper, claimed having seen something he could not explain."

"At the time I believed it could have been some sort of hallucination, but he was completely fine, showed no signs of intoxication or alcoholism. In fact, the event took place during his working hours," added the doctor.

Bellido says that the clinic 'respects popular belief' and that the goal of the staff was to 'calm' the man down and helping him 'overcome this event with psychological therapy'.

[Translator's Note - While this story was met with scorn and still evokes negative reactions, we must bear in mind that attacks of this nature, involving "imps", "goblins" or "little people" are featured extensively in UFO and paranormal literature in Argentina and elsewhere in Latin America. One is reminded of cases recorded by researcher Carlos Banchs about farmhands who wanted to give the 'little people' a beating only to have them retaliate in kind, and Sebastián Robiou's account in Puerto Rico - 4000 miles distant - involving a rural resident being accosted by 'imps'.
