December 1973. Ms. Blanca Ruiz Arroyo stated that "something very strange had happened to her this week—something no one is going to believe," adding: "I was returning from work at 2:00 a.m. in my van, traveling along Highway No. 2—'La Militar,' as it is called—which leads to the town of Sabana Grande. That was when I noticed a very strange luminosity surrounding my vehicle; my lights went out. I looked up and saw an oval-shaped object flying very low, illuminated by a light resembling that of mercury vapor lamps. Since my window was rolled down, I could hear a metallic sound—a sort of humming. The object continued to fly directly in front of my car, remaining very low and displaying no windows or portholes. I was terrified, as I thought it was going to land right on top of my car; it was roughly the same size as my vehicle—a 1970 Chevrolet Impala. I accelerated to 90 km/h, and the object followed me. When I reached a bridge, the object veered to the left and ascended rapidly. From there, I drove straight to the police station, nearly hysterical. They gave me some water, and once I had calmed down, I did my best to explain what had happened to the officers. Since that night, I want nothing to do with such things. I am absolutely terrified." (Ing. Noel Rigau, *Awareness*, 1974).
