Argentina: The FAO 2nd Great Skywatch Rained Out

The FAO 2nd Great Skywatch Rained Out

By Luis Burgos (FAO / ICOU) – Ovnis Siglo XXI

Cars loaded with passengers, gear, food and zeal were well on their way toward the mysterious area of El Nido (“The Nest”), specifically the Ferrari Iron Bridge between Routes 2 and 36. The looming clouds did not make dent in the enthusiasm of the more than thirty adventurers , willing to take on the elements,  in making the FAO 2nd Great Skywatch a success. A day similar to the one experienced in February 2020 at Punta Piedras, with a record of 58 skywatchers, was now relegated to  second place, as the party now numbered in excess of sixty, coming from La Plata, Villa Elisa, Gran Buenos Aires, Capital Federal, Dolores, Brandsen, Chascomús and Mar del Plata.

But Lady Weather did not look favorably upon this. Even so, half of the potential attendees decided to defy the menacing storm and head to Ferrari. Our FAO team (Lucia Lopez, Juan Lanza, Nelson Polanco and Luis Burgos) set out from La Plata in Juan’s 4 x 4 along Route No. 36 at around 15:15 hours to take the lead and inspect both access roads. The goal was to reach Kilometer 92, make a right, and make for the bridge, and the first 25 kilometers covered were suitable for any vehicle to transit. Questions were raised about some very dark rain clouds precisely at the skywatch location, and the omen soon came true: Just 3 kilometers from the iron bridge, the safe earth and gravel road became a mire, taking Juan’s skill at the wheel of the 4 x 4 to have it fulfill the mission for which it was built.

We immediately contacted the rest of the travelers to advise them that the skywatch was now called off, given the likelihood that at least one car would be stranded. Some fishermen coming in from Route 2 even confirmed the fact. We set up at the side of the bridge and planted our FAO banner as standard before the curious eyes of fishermen who surely did not understand the purpose of that cloth with an ET’s face, waving in the breeze.

Some hours went by, and between sips of mate and communication with the other members who had cancelled the trip, the sky began to clear out over some areas, and even a giant cloud over the River Plate assumed the shape of an Adamskian mothership. The afternoon went by and we decided to wait a little more, setting up at the very same place where the Great Skywatch was scheduled to take place. With an unclouded ribbon of stars, but a horizon brimming with electric storms around 20:50 hours, our good friend the International Space Station appeared overhead from the Northeast with a magnitude of -2.9. And if that wasn’t enough, a few flashes from LUCI accompanied the moonless night.

We headed back to La Plata around 22:00 hours, with Juan making his way across the waterlogged road, avoiding several skunks crossing our path. We figured out possible dates to make up for failed Sunday, February 14 skywatch – a date on which “lovers” of the sky were unable to honor the festivities of the day.

Uruguay: Enormous Circular Craft Reported

*In Piriápolis, a coastal community along the River Plate located 100 kilomteres from Montevideo, it was possible to see a UFO crossing the sky and seemingly descend near Cerro del Toro. The incident was recorded *

Piriápolis, a coastal location on the River Plate located 100 kilometers from Montevideo, Uruguay, was shaken in the early days in January by an impressive sighting and recording which showed an enormous circular and/or arrowhead-shaped craft which crossed the sky, giving the appearance of descending near Cerro del Toro, located nearly 5 kilometers outside the city.

The most important feature of the recorded material is that it was taken by a resident of Barrio La Falda who could see the UFO clearly as he spoke with two other people, while many others also witnessed the event. The video's other relevant feature is that aside from its clarity, despite the fact that it ocurred at night, it was possible to ascertain that it was not an airplane or any other known object, with a duration of over four minutes, which is a rarity.

At one point in the conversation, one of the witnesses expresses the possibility that the sighting could be people coming down the hill with flashlights, but the images do not show this (given the distance of 5 kilometers) and do show an enormous circular or arrowheaded craft with various colors, with a sequence that was hard to explain. It should be noted that these people had previously taken UFO photos in 2020.

The event was investigated by renowned Uruguayan ufologists such as Gustavo Farías and Richard Karlen. According to Karlen, he ratified the continuous 'visits' to the country, as only a few days earlier he had managed to take a photo of another strange craft in Playa La Mansa, Punta del Este, in broad daylight.

Argentina: UFO Reported Over the City of Roque Peréz

At 12:45 this Saturday a UFO was reported over the city of Roque Pérez. Several people contacted Cronica and repeating the same story: something resembling an 'upside down half nut' flew across the community's skies.

A local resident described his experience:

"We were in the countryside, setting up an event on Route 205, Km. 136. We were done and about to have some refreshments. Looking skyward, I saw the moon and noticed a kind of upside down half nut pass by. I called a co-worker to have a look. He also saw it and was astonished, being the first time he'd seen such a thing in broad daylight," said the witness, who is still astonished.

The same person said that he 'shouted' for a third party, but by the time she came over, the object had disappeared. Due to the speed at which the object moved, he didn't manage to take a photo, but he took a piece of paper and drew what he had seen.

The city of Roque Pérez and its surroundings have a long history of involvement with UFOs. In 1991, around 3 a.m. a truck driver surnamed Torres and two co-workers were driving aboard a truck belonging to a local poultry company from Begueri to Roque Pérez. Making their way along dusty Route 20, they saw a very powerful source of light. They said that its colors changed and that it engaged in unsteady movements and circles at considerable height. The object was only slightly larger than the morning star, moved slowly and without making any noise whatsoever. After two minutes, the object vanished from sight heading West. The three witnesses were startled.

This news item is still developing and we are traveling to the site to see if photos, videos and eyewitness accounts can be obtained. In recent months many voices have provided information on the presence of these strange lights in the local skies. Some are convinced that it all has to do with the Salado River only a few kilometers from the city.

Argentina: Two UFOs Flew Over San Juan (and there's video)

A young woman from San Juan shared the video of two UFOs that flew over the Department of Pocito at sunset, and swears that her entire family witnessed it.

While sightings of unidentified flying objects in Argentina are not a frequent news story, a woman recorded the moment in which two UFOs flew over the Department of Pocito in the Province of San Juan. The event occurred at sunset.

"I know there's a lot to disbelieve, but I swear to you that I saw them," said Sole Torrasa, who published the video recorded by one of her aunts on her Facebook page. "It can't be seen properly because of the sun, but I put my shades on and all can be seen clearly. Very impressive."

The video shows how two shiny flying objects remain still in the sky, engage in some maneuvers, and within a minute go dim until they vanish completely. Torrasa, given her surprise, explained to her family what was going on, and they all ascertained that it involved UFOs. "I swear that they all saw the same thing."

Video is embedded in the Radio Mitre website.
