Venezuela: Search Undertaken for Families Allegedly Missing After Extraterrestrial Encounter

The Al Rojo Vivo television program featured a 35 second spot concerning the alleged disappearance of a group of families - a total of 30 people - who had embarked on a 'healing retreat' in a location known as La Grita in the state of Táchira. The missing were apparently led by a guru who claimed having had dealings with 'extraterrestrials' in that area. Authorities combed the area in search of the families, their task aided by drones. The theories put forth at the time suggested involvement by a cult and even "kidnapping by a UFO"
