Case No. 004

Case Name:

Sighting at Gerena, Seville (30 November 1980, 21:00 hours)

Description of the Event:

At nine o'clock in the evening, when it came time to close the gate that separated the fenced enclosure in which some 200 yearling bulls were kept, at the "La Caldera" ranch within the municipal limits of Gerena, Seville (devoted to raising fighting bulls), the keepers of said property, Mrs. Josefa Acuña and her son Diego Vidal, became aware of a powerful glow similar to that of daylight. It came from the area immediately adjacent to the "tentadero" [An enclosure used during the tienta to decide if the bulls are fit to become fighting bulls, used for breeding, or to be sacrificed - Wikitonary] on the premises. They became aware of a pyramidal object on the ground - an object endowed with a row of intermittent white lights on its left side, a main central light, and red lights larger than the white ones on the right side.

Mother and son observed the phenomenon, going in and out of their home on regular intervals. The event lasted three hours, although they could not say for sure, since at the end of that time period, they stopped going out of the house, and did not know what became of the object.

The 200 yearling bulls in the area were not disturbed by the UFO, nor were the property's guard dogs, which were particularly aggressive toward members of the GEIFO group during the visit to the site.

Moreover, with our flashlights and camera flashes, GEIFO members caused these bulls to stampede, placing us in jeopardy.

The next morning - although the precise relationship to the sighting is uncertain - one bull was found dead and another wounded, although it is said that fights among them are quite common.

Points to Consider:

  • The length of  time that the object remained in the landing area.
