A Video Controversy

John Hayes of UFOINFO has kindly placed a link to a PDF file containing the controversial analysis of an alleged UFO recorded over Houston in recent months. Analysis has shown the object that appears in the video to be computer-created, employing commercially available software.

In disclosing the true nature of this video, Ana Luisa Cid has become the unfortunate target of all manner of accusations and character defamation. We urge our readers to approach this report with objectivity and render their own opinions as to what is presented therein. INEXPLICATA would like to express its support of Prof. Cid's efforts over the years in helping sort the proverbial wheat from the chaff in the convoluted Mexican UFO scene.

Argentina: "Glowing Little Man" in 3D

The COPENOA news agency has provided the following link to a 3-D "reconstruction" of the "glowing little man" allegedly seen in San Carlos, Argentina.

Argentinean folklore offers a wealth of narratives involving diminutive paranormal entities, such as "El Pombero", and others whose presence is still reported -- and feared -- by rural residents.

Argentina: Drawings of the "Glowing Little Man"

Mario Luis Bracamonte of the Circulo Ovnilógico Riocuartense (COR), a long-time collaborator of Inexplicata, has very kindly forwarded us drawings that allegedly show the "glowing little man" seen in the Valles Chalchaquíes region of Salta Province, a location that appears repeatedly in chronicles of UFO and high-strangeness events in the Andean region of Argentina.

Argentina: “Glowing Little Man” Spreads Panic in Salta

*** Once again, Salta becomes the site for weird events ***

Residents of the town of San Carlos now claim seeing a strange being, standing some 40 cm tall, with a magnetic field that kept people from approaching it.

Two people, mechanics Walter Lopez and Omar Ferlatti, informed police about the sighting of the diminutibve creature whom they described in detail: the being was small, glowing and wore pants. It appeared it be protected by a magnetic field.

This incident increased the collective fear of the residents of this community of the Valles Chalchaquies even further. In recent days, a luminous object was seen in the vicinity of their town.

“Kids aren’t going out at night out of fear of the strange creature and the UFO,” claimed a resident of San Carlos in a statement to the Copenoa news agency.
Ferlatti and Lopez’s account dovetails with the one given by a shepherdess on the hills, who was startled by the strange visitor.

Police have stated that both stories coincide and that local residents are indeed frightened. “It hasn’t been seen again. It would be good for it to return, to ascertain that the events were indeed as described,” said deputy sheriff Luis Comenares.

Argentina: Salta – Aliens in San Carlos?

Residents of the town of San Carlos in the province of Salta claim having seen a strange entity, standing some forty centimeters tall, and seemingly protected by a magnetic field. The story given by Omar Ferlatti, who saw the strange being, is brief and starttling due to the certainty of the details offered on the strange visitor’s physionomy.

Ferlatti was in the company of Walter Lopez when the saw the strange entity. The townsmen’s story coincides with the acocunt given by a shepherdess from the Valles Chalchaquies. The shepherdess was startled by the strange visitor while tending her flock.

A news team from the Copenoa news agency interviewed residents of San Carlos. These will be issued in video format and will surprise viewers with accounts of UFOs witnessed in this historic community, nestled in the Valles Chalchaquies of Salta Province.

Argentina: Two UFOs Over Ledesma

ARGENTINA: Two UFOs Over Ledesma

*** Two UFOs crossed the skies over Ledesma on Sunday ***
*** Event photographed by journalist; phenomenon analyzed and confirmed by Mexican
"ufologist" ****

Two unidentified flying objects plowed the skies over Libertador Genera, San Martin
and neighboring regions at noon on Sunday. It would seem that the phenomenon went
largely unnoticed by most of the population, as there was radiant sunshine and the
sky was completely clear, aside from the fact that UFOs allegedly traveled at very
high speed.

The strange presence, however, was photographed by young Florencia, 12, the daughter
of journalist Marcelo Pereyra, as she took photos near a canefield that lies halfway
between that city in Ledesma and the so-called Lote Paulina.

Upon downloading the photos to his PC, Mr. Pereyra noticed that one of them, taken
at 11 hrs, 11 minutes and 22 seconds on Sunday, May 18th, depicted two strange objects
that had not been seen when the photos were taken, not even in an early picture
taken two seconds earlier. It was thus that he began to expand the images and saw
two flying objects at an elevation of no more than two hundred meters heading toward
the Calilegua Hills, as he told our morning newspaper, of which he is also a correspondent.

Startled by the image, he published it on a website ( hoping
to garner some comments or the eyewitness account of another person who may have
seen the objects fly over the skies of Ledesma.

He immediately received a comment from a Mexican "ufologist", Ing. Leopoldo
Lazcano Antillon, director of Grupo Daleph ( who analyzed
the photos with other specialists, reaching a preliminary conclusion: "[it
involves] two flying objects (of steel or metallurgical construction) at an unknown
rate of speed or vibration."

The Mexican specialist also indicated his willingness to analyze any other image
that may have been taken of the phenomenon that occurred near Libertador.

PHONY UFOs: The Aircraft of Discord
By Luis Burgos (FAO)

Since April of last year (2007), and for the following two months, the skies of Argentina were criss-crossed by strange devices, incorrectly described as "bolides". While they possessed a kind of "luminous wake" as they flew by, they lacked the characteristic speed of a meteorite. More than one witness thought him/herself to be in the presence of a UFO: there were videos, photos and newspaper articles that gave rise to a variety of conjectures and disputes. But the objects were, in fact, inter-continental airplanes.

The first reports concerning their incursions go back to 1987, when one of these vehicles was reported and believed to be a UFO over the River Plate. Over the years and in various skywatches held by FAO, we had the chance to observe them and even have a few of them fly directly over our heads. In one occasion we saw them from the riverbank at Atalaya, Province of Buenos Aires, in the company of Silvia and Andrea Perez Simondini (VISION OVNI).

These vehicles cross the distance from one continent to another, at considerable altitudes and giving off a gasification that accompany them like a short wake, although it can expand to become larger on occasions. In the distance, lit by the morning or twilight sun, they resemble "strange spindle-shaped objects, like cylinders or cigars", yellowish, orange or red in color, that even appear to remain still for several minutes, according to the observer's angle and distance. Thus, any hapless onlooker could think that he or she is seeing a UFO, but alas, that is not the case. The object's flight continues undisturbed, and generally in a Southeast-Northwest trajectory and viceversa. The time of year with the most frequent reports covers the months of April, May and June. Do they carry passengers? Are they official? Scientific? What is their mission? This perhaps is the only mystery to be unveiled. Someone suggested that the opening of the season in the Far East makes these flights more frequent. Others harbor different suspicions. The fact is that they continue plowing our skies and are still mistaken for UFOs, bringing about the controversial subject of the "fiery wakes."

The Aircraft of 2008

On March 20 we saw a distant "cigarette" at 19:20 hours from Atalaya (Bs.As.) toward the Northwest during a FAO skywatch.

On April 2: what was seen and photographed in Villaguay, Entre Rios at sunset could possibly have been one of them.

On April 10: one was seen at 18:40 hours from La Plata (Bs.As.) toward the west; yellow, luminous and with a wake.

On April 12: reports were received from the transit [of one of these objects] at 18:15 from Las Flores and Chascomús, both locations in the interior of Buenos Aires province.

On April 14: we were alerted to a "strange" presence in the town of Moquehuá, also in the interior of the province, at 18:00 hours.

Toward mid-April, what was reported by residents of Marcos Paz (Bs.As.) and reported in the papers could have been one of them.

On April 20: Gustavo da Silva (FAO in Ranchos) picked up the image of another airplane in his cellphone at 17:40 hours, while headed for La Plata.

On April 24: [An airplane] was almost certainly what was seen by residents of Santa Maria, Catamarca, flying NW at 17:45 hours.

On May 13: [An airplane] confused numerous residents of La Plata (Bs.As.) who witnessed its flight at 07:30 hours toward the River Plate, accompanied by a short luminous wake.

On May 14: The previous day's event repeated itself over La Plata and the riverbanks. Fortunately, it was photographed by Fernando Mengui, a FAO photographer, also at the same time of 07:30 hours, as it passed practically over his head. The most remarkable fact is that airplane's fuselage cannot be made out in the photo (Photo1). A case that is very similar to the one that appears below.

The Villaguay Phenomenon (Entre Rios)

On April 2 at 18:56 hours, Mr. Beto P., a professional photographer, took one of the most intriguing photographs of one of these vehicles, to the extent that it appeared in the "AP On Line" digital newspaper, edited by Ceferino Azambuyo, and which appeared in the media as a UFO over the skies of Entre Rios, only days after the famous meteorite shower over the area. When Mr. Beto contacted the FAO, he provided us with all the original material and our own Jorge Luis Figueiras performed the pertinent analyses. The photographer had executed a few filters himself (Villaguay photo 4). The main question had to do with the fact that two luminous yellow-orange wakes trailed off the alleged UFO, practically within the "cumulus of emission". In other words, the typical condensation trails did not emerge from the rear (See photo 2) but rather from both sides and looked more like flames and emission gases (Villaguay Photo 5). Mr. Beto had also managed to see a "strange variation" in the flight trajectory. We consulted with Carlos Basile (former airline pilot) who cautiously opined by not being able to attest to the shape of the object, and Claudio Basselice (FAO in Campana), an air force veteran from the Falklands War, who suggested that the transit of an airplane was in fact "very likely." With a new evaluation of the material and greater image resolution (Villaguay Photos 1 to 3), we clearly see " a central body with two lateral wake" -- definite confirmation of the presence of an airplane of the type that visits us regularly. Yet it casts a shadow of doubt by the fact that its structure cannot be clearly seen, as in other instances. What's more, if we lived in California we might even suspect the re-entry of the Space Shuttle at Edwards AFB, judging by the dense "alleged" flames given off as it flies, instead of an airplane.

There can be no doubt that they will continue to appear, either with official explanations or with the characteristic silence of the government, this stage of the game, will they continue to be mistaken for UFOs?

Vatican: "It is Possible To Believe in God and Aliens"

Source: Diario Clarin (Argentina)
Date: 05.14.08

"It is possible to believe in God and aliens"

Argentinean Jesuit Jose Gabriel Funes, director of the Vatican Astronomical Observatory, stated that it is possible to believe in God and in aliens. "The existence of other worlds and other life forms, some even more evolved than our own, can be admitted without questioning our faith in creation, in incarnation and redemption. It is possible to believe in both God and in aliens," said Funes, 45, in an interview with the Vatican's "L'Osservatore Romano".

The Argentinean said that the "Big Bang" theory is the one that best explains the origin of the world, to dte: "As an astronomer, I still believe that God is the creator of the universe and that we are not the product of chance, but the children of a loving father, who has a project of love in store for us."

Funes added that the universe is made up of 100 billion galaxies, each consisting of 100 billion stars and that many or nearly all of them may have planets.

"How can we reject [the possibility] that life may have developed elsewhere as well?" asks the Jesuit, who added: "Much like the multiplicity of creatures on Earth, there could be other beings, intelligent ones, created by God. This does not contradict our faith, because we cannot impose a limit on God's freedom to create." Paraphrasing St. Francis, the religious noted that aliens could also be referred to as our "brothers."

Mexico: An Alleged Flying Humanoid (2008)

Mexico: An Alleged Flying Humanoid (2008)
By Ana Luisa Cid

Lic. Daniel Sanchez Rosales, a resident of Mexico City, recorded an unidentified flying object that he describes as having humanoid characteristics.

The video was taken on February 28 of this year in the Moctezuma district, no far from Mexico City International Airport, at 6:50 a.m.

It should be mentioned that the first one to see it was his nephew Quique (Erik) as left home toward his middle school. It was then that he woke his uncle Daniel and they observed the phenomenon through binoculars, at first. During this observation, the witnesses described it as "a flying humanoid" resembling an astronaut. They claimed that it was facing them and it seemed to survey its surroundings.

As part of this investigation, I visited the household and interviewed the witnesses. Both seemed like honest people to me, and are not looking for either fame or fortune, merely a chance to share their experience. Daniel Sanchez Rosales,36, is a graduate of the UNAM School of Law.

After reviewing the video with filters, my conclusion is that it is authentic, but it is still necessary to determine the nature of what was recorded.

Objectively, we are aware that this could have an explanation: perhaps a balloon, but there are three aspects that draw our attention:

1. The recording has a 12-minute duation, and if we add to this the observation time through binoculars, the sighting was around 15 minutes, an uncommon period of time when we deal with balloons, as these are carried away by the wind, and it is hard to see them for an extended period of time.

2. At a given point in the video, the object or alleged humanoid makes descending movements, then remains static for a while and subsequently rises again. This ascending and descending isn't quite so common with balloon.

3. At two moments during the recording, the dogs' reaction can be heard. The appear to be keening or expressing fear. This does not occur when balloons are involved, unless it is a huge coincidence (the witness has 2 Labrador Retrievers).

The object remains close to an air corridor. The background information here is that researcher Alfonso Salazar had reported the presence of UFOs near MCIA.

Mexico: Reports from Airliner Personnel

Mexico: Reports from Airliner Personnel

Ana Luisa Cid writes: Personnel from the Mexico City International Airport (MCIA) saw an airliner flying close to a UFO.

The event occurred on April 27 2008 at 15:43 hours, when the Aladia Boeing 757-200 commenced rising over the Mexican capital after taking off from the airport in question.

According to calculations, the UFO was 38 meters long (estimating that it was half the length of the Boeing 757's fuselage). They added that the object was saucer-shaped, white and remained static at an elevation of 5000 meters.

Weather conditions: clear and sunny. Information on this case was received from researcher Alfonso Salazar.

Argentina: Chupacabras Changes Diet

A dog was found dead with a puncture mark in its throat and completely drained of blood in the Argentinean city of Rosario. No signs of a struggle were evident, nor were bloodstains found on the ground. The animal shared a terrace with another dog that did not suffer any violence whatsoever.

This incident likely took place in the early morning hours of Thursday. Daniel Angel R., a resident of the Echesortu district of Rosario, heard some barking from the terrace on which he kept his dogs, but paid no attention to it, since there was nothing unusual about the situation.

According to information provided by the local newspaper "La Capital", the owner of the property went up to the terrace areound noon, finding one of his dogs dead under a grill. Upon examining the body, Daniel R. did not find any other signs of violence beyond a deep, clean wound in the neck area which allowed him to see the animal's bones. No signs of a struggle were evident in the area, not even a drop of blood on the ground.

The frightened man took the carcass to the city's 6th Sheriff's Office, where he filed the corresponding police report. The dog's lifeless body was taken to the Instituto Medico Legal, where an autopsy shall be performed in order to establish the cause of death.

The Controversial Malargue UFO (Argentina)
By Luis Burgos (FAO)

The Event

Felix Fernandez, Omar Gonzalez and Virgilio Moreno, employees of the Dirección Provincial de Vialidad, were returning from Paraje La Junta to the city of Malargue in southern Mendoza province after working on repairing some machinery. As the trip elapsed, Fernandez took pictures of the landscape with his cellphone (of which no information has been hitherto available). At 18:50 hours, a strange discoidal flying object makes an appearance, maneuvering in front of the sun and the witnesses, and flying over the zone for 15 minutes until pausing for a moment and then vanishing from sight toward the west in the El Chacal zone. This allowed for several photos to be taken of the object. Fernandez told his own story on Radio 1 Alvear and the story reached the media. The photo analyses performed by Jorge Luis Figueiras, through various filters, show the typical solid “saucer shape” with interesting contours and edges, similar to photos taken with cellphones from El Chocon and Santiago del Estero, both in 2008.

The Main Witness

This, then, is the narrative of the case and of the analyses performed by our specialist, Jorge Luis Figueiras, using the only photograph that was circulated in the media. After a few days, I received an e-mail from the main protagonist of the event. Mr. Felix Fabian Fernandez, 41, expressing his TOTAL LACK OF COMMERCIAL INTEREST in the photo, fully placing it at the disposal of this author, and therefore, of the FAO, to perform any analyses to the required material, consisting of a series of images taken that afternoon, and making himself available for any questions or consultations that we may deem pertinent. As days passed, we exchanged several phone calls, text messages and e-mails. We can extract from them the following evaluative concepts from the eyewitness’s account:

The camera: It was not a cellphone, as the media claimed, but a digital camera with a 1 Megapixel lens, Mp4 and video capability. The photos have a 640 x 480 resolution.

The photos: SEVEN photos were taken of the object, not just one (the photo that appeared in the media).

The time: According to Felix, between 2-4 minutes elapsed between each photo. The 15-minute duration of the observation took place on a poorly kept road, covered in dirt and rip-rap, and along a detour. This allows us to deduce that the distance covered by the pickup truck was NOT VERY LONG, compared with 15 minutes driving along a normal road. Hence the nearly permanent presence in the same landscape. We must add to this the time taken to get out of the vehicle to take better photos.

The UFO: The disk-shaped object remained at a constant altitude and made gyroscopic movements, balancing itself slightly throughout the observation and even as it sped away...

The geography: While this is an open area, the facilities of the Pierre Auger Observatory are nearby, well known for its capture of cosmic rays. In other words, the object flew over this location.

The photographic variables:
If the object is far away – it is undefined.
If the object is near – it is too real.
If the object is out of focus or blurry – it is a spot, a bird or a bug.
If it is in front of the Sun or near it – it is a reflection.
If there are eyewitnesses – then it must be a hoax, etc., etc.

Perhaps in order to counteract this, and also as a test, we would have to resort to the AIRPLANE EFFECT: in other words, begin taking photos of distant aircraft, as far as possible, and if they are near the sun, better yet. 80% of the photos would be DISQUALIFIED as such. They would be merely distant, elongated forms, poorly lit, with odd contours, etc. and no matter how hard the witness tried to prove that he saw and photographed a plane, [this would be rejected] simply because the photo presented as proof WOULD NOT SUPPORT IT!!!

The analyses: Having employed all of the filters [the object] indeed presents contours, edges and even a reflection of its own image in one of the photos, but when all of the photos are superimposed, the object’s location is almost the same. It seems to be fixed in all photos between the Sun and the camera. Untrustworthy? Obviously. Impossible? Not at all. With regard to the low resolution of cellular or low quality cameras, which present “dark central spots” when aimed at the Sun (not in all cases) and sometimes strange oval objects, this is not the case. Here we have a classic “two plates joined at the edges” shape, not an oval or ovoid. It is obvious that it would be henceforth necessary for naysayers to “prove the hoax”, as there is no confusion here. It’s either a UFO or a hoax, and in the case of the latter, we would be speaking in terms of RETOUCHING a dark spot produced in the photos.

In the light of all this new information and the analyses performed, the case shall without question remain polemical. There will be those who will rely on the eyewitness version of the events, those who will call it into question and those who will dismiss it as a hoax, where we would now face a photographic montage as well as a “confabulation” by three witnesses, employees of a state company. In other words, one person hoaxing the images and two more corroborating the story. This is hard to believe, but not impossible, logically. Let us bear in mind that this isn’t a mere photo or “phantom” photo --- it is a sighting “backed by photo evidence”, to judge by the proof presented.

Question: And if the three witnesses hadn’t presented photos and gone to the media with their story, would this have made the case more credible? Why bother with photos, if the press reports everything or nearly everything, especially from rural residents? We therefore present all of the analyses performed on the photos. Let everyone draw their own conclusions: coincidences, reflections, hoaxes, questions, certainty, new discoveries, etc. Everything is possible in the field of ufology – just ask the FOTOCAT project!

Peru: UFO Over Piura

Source: Correo de Piura (newspaper)

UFOs Over Piura

Some residents of Piura believe that we are not the only ones in the universe, but sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) are no longer strange. A Piuran attorney was terrified when he felt the phenomenon’s murmurs.

PIURA – Those who delight in speaking of aliens may calmly be considered insane. It has even been observed that people have forged alleged proof in an effort to achieve notoriety, or were also part of a psychosocial phenomenon. However, this phenomenon is rampaging in our city. On April 19, a researcher from Proyecto UFO managed to pick upn an object at 11 p.m. , flashing orange and silver lights in the desert between Piura and Paita. Since 1999, the Proyecto, formed by four good friends, decided to look into these sightings. They overcame their fear of the unknown and always organize vigils for sightings. They are convinced of an alien presence during the last Aerosport Festival organized by the Peruvian Air Force (FAP). There are hundreds of videos circulating on YouTube, where we find a news report from the defunct “Hechos” publication, reporting a sighting at the Los Cocos urbanization on February 8, 1994. Is there any truth to all this? Now, attorney Luis Vazquez Coronel offers us an astonishing story, “Cerro Pilan, a UFO highway”. Terrifying.. Vazquez Coronel, who also teaches English at a renowned school, was nearly indifferent to the UFO phenomenon. When he heard Anthony Choy, former head of the Oficina de Investigacion de Fenomenons Aeroanormales (OIFA), a dependency of the FAP itself, discuss sightings in Chulucanas, he was overcome by curiosity.

To date, Vazquez Coronel has made 16 trips and is terrified by each experience. He neither makes conjectures nor indulges in guesswork – he only tells the truth as he knows it. His close encounter of the first kind occurred in July 2007. He discusses that hapless trip in his book: in the company of two friends from Piura and two other locals, he came across a weird light in the village of Palo Blanco.

“A star that made an abnormal movement,” as he describes it. Fear gripped their bodies, because this light was chasing them. Beating naysayers to the punch, Vazquez Coronel writes: “They say that these red and turquoise lights are seen around the mines, and it can’t be true, because [they] follow a definite trajectory.”

He had two unusual experiences in subsequent trips. He was able to see a vessel irradiating “luminous triangles” in the blink of an eye over Cerro Pilan. “It was shaped like a hanging parachute,” he explains. All of this is recorded in photo and video formats. The adventurers ascended the summit of Cerro Horquetudo in 10 minutes and also noted the presence of lights. Hearing echoes [in the darkness] froze their blood colder than the North Pole. It is for this reason, they say, the very few dare the ascent, out of a fear that the peak will bewitch them. “People would opine that this is insane,” we argue, and he replies: “People feel very comfortable with reality, with what they know.” Some prophets claim that the increase in sightings heralds something, but Vazquez Coronel’s testimony concludes by saying that the only thing palpable is fear.

Further information: UFO sightings follow a route that begins in Chulucanas, passes over the treeline toward Piura, reaches the Alas Peruanas Universty, the Bolognesi Bridge, flies over Santisimo Sacramento parish and ends at Cerro Azul.

Puerto Rico: Couple Photographs UFO Over Naranjito

Puerto Rico: Couple Photographs UFO over Naranjito

Source: Willie Durand Urbina, Puerto Rican Experimental Research Group
Sighting Date: March 17, 2008,
Sighting Time: 9:56 p.m.

Photos taken with a Fuji Film Finepix AB20 8.3 Megapixels – 4x Optical Zoom.

Technical personnel from the PRRG performed an optical and scientific analysis employing Adobe Photoshop 6.0 on three photos depicting an unidentified flying object with a solid shape that made peculiar and typical movements. These movements created a plasma vortex, which is nothing more than the accumulation of energy made up of radiation and heat.

According to the witnesses, the object emitted a very potent and intermittent light. This indicates that high levels of radiation took place in its surroundings, interacting by colliding between the Earth’s magnetic field and the magnetic force lines of hydrogen and oxygen in the planet’s atmosphere, causing it to glow in various colors and generating a significant amount of positive ions.

Witness Report: "It all happened on Friday, March 17, 2008 at 9:56 p.m. when my husband and I looked out on a clear, unclouded night. What we saw that evening was to the north of our point of view, as it was possible to see a mountainous area in the background which gave us a more precise point of reference for the [object’s] position with regard to our own. My husband saw a brilliant light through the window, flashing in various colors and remaining static in the sky. He then summoned me to witness the event, and we were both able to clearly see the blinking light.”

Among the characteristics of a UFO sighting, we know that these [objects] have the capability or property of transforming themselves into energy, adopting a different shape. Their colors are more intense. We can interpret that at that time they issue a maximum quantity of radiation – microwaves, x-rays, magnetism and others beyond our scientific knowledge.

We must bear in mind that these vehicles or craft violate all physical laws known to mankind when they appear in our reality. To my understanding, these craft are governed by a dimensional space-time principle, which has hitherto been the only logical explanation that accounts for their presence in our 3-D reality.

We know from experience that this location is rich in UFO events (flaps) and the residents of this town [Naranjito] mostly discuss their own encounter experiences with unidentified flying objects. We hope to be able to share with you other incidents that may occur at this location.

Puerto Rico is currently undergoing a UFO flap. There is a considerable amount of information reaching us; some of it cannot be published due to the sensitive nature of the subject.

We would like to thank our technical staff for their work and analytical work in the interpretation of this enigma, which has always appeared to elude our understanding.
