Chile: A Strange Moment 14 Years Ago

The following is one of the many unexplained photos in our files. Osvaldo Muray invited IIEE Chile and IIEE España to the Conchalí Hills surrounding Santiago de Chile. A sequence of several photos captured this 'flying lentil' between the two researchers as they talked, showing its formation as an initial nebulous halo in a completely clear, transparent sky. Whatever it was gained shape little by little, only to dissolve into another nebulosity and vanish. The photo captured its final form as it moved from East to West. We only became aware of what we had seen upon developing the film. Analyses have not yielded a satisfactory explanation to the situation experienced by  Ramón Navia-Osorio (IIEE España) Osvaldo Muray (Investigative Journalist - RIP)  y Raúl Núñez (IIEE Chile, who took the photo).
